“Its classical architecture transcends time. When you’re there, in the house and on the grounds, you can feel the long past, its history, but you also expect that it will continue long into the future.”
Deena C. Bouknight visited Millford this spring to tour the home and research for her beautifully written article on the history of the house and its inhabitants. Deena had a chance to speak with CAHPT’s own Peter Kenny, as well as Emory Clark, whose family has a long connection to the property as well. She carefully connects the lineage of the home, starting with the John and Susan Hampton Manning in 1841 and through the current day, with CAHPT as the owner of this now historic home.
