An Edgewater Cabaret: A Musical Evening on the Hudson
Join us on the lawn the evening of June 17thfor a special musical event in recognition of Pride Month acknowledging the great contributions of the LGBTQAI+ community to the arts. Edgewater has a fascinating queer history spanning from the 1950s, when writer and intellectual Gore Vidal owned the estate, to its transition as the home of Dick Jenrette and Bill Thompson, who remained lifelong committed partners.
Dick and Bill were great supporters of the arts. They especially loved musical theater which is why CAHPT is delighted to host our first cabaret evening set against the backdrop of their historic home on the Hudson. A donation of $100 (or more) grants entry to the cabaret. We are thrilled to host this event in support of two important New York State based organizations: ArtsIgnite and NYC LGBT Historic Sites Project.
Performances by:
Jonathan Cable (Jersey Boys, Babes in Toyland) and Liam Forde (Much Ado About Nothing, Big)
under the artistic direction of Mason Griffin (Bound for Broadway, Broadway Classroom).
