HISTORIC HOUSE MUSEUM
Ayr Mount, the historic house museum, is open for guided public tours March 15 – December 15, 2019 according to the following weekly schedule:
Wednesday – 11 AM
Thursday – 11 AM and 2 PM
Friday – 11 AM and 2 PM
Saturday – 11 AM and 2 PM
Sunday – 2 PM
Monday and Tuesday by appointment only
Please note: Ayr Mount will be closed to the public on Saturday October 12 and Sunday October 13 as part of the Outlandish Hillsborough event. Admittance to the grounds and guided house tours will be available to OH ticket goers only.
Fee: $12 per person. Advance tickets are not needed. Please meet the docent at the front door a few minutes prior to the tour time.

SITE GATES
The site gates for Ayr Mount’s grounds and the Poet’s Walk are open daily during the following times*:
January, February, November, December – 9 AM – 5 PM
March, October – 9 AM – 6 PM
April, May, August, September – 9 AM – 7 PM
June, July – 9 AM – 8 PM
You may wish to bring a picnic basket to enjoy at a picnic table nestled under hardwoods and pines, or on the beautifully landscaped grounds. Groups of 7 or more require advance notice and a rental fee. Click here to reserve a table and for more information.
Visitors are kindly asked to adhere to the site rules.

HISTORIC OCCONEECHEE SPEEDWAY TRAIL (HOST):
The site is open during the following times*:
January, February, November, December – 8 AM – 5 PM
March, October – 8 AM – 6 PM
April, May, August, September – 7 AM – 7 PM
June, July – 7 AM – 8 PM
No access after sunset!
Fee: No charge
Please note: Due to complications following Hurricane Florence some outlying trails (JMJ Nature Preserve) will be flagged and closed until further notice.

Located in Hillsborough, Ayr Mount is only eight miles from the Duke University campus and ten miles from the University of North Carolina campus at Chapel Hill.

From Greensboro, NC: Take I-85 North to Hillsborough exit 164. Turn left onto Churton Street heading North into downtown. Turn right onto East King Street then follow brown signs to Ayr Mount.
From Raleigh, NC: Take I-40 West to Hillsborough exit 261. Turn right and head North onto Churton Street. Turn right onto East King Street then follow brown signs to Ayr Mount.
From Richmond, VA: Take I-95 South to I-85 South to exit 170. Follow US 70 Bypass West to signal light at St. Mary’s Road intersection. Turn left heading into town, Ayr Mount entrance ½ mile on Left.
Car parking is available at no charge.
